Warm up

• sing a song about famous people using musical instruments.

Middle

• learners listening to the sounds in order to get topic and describe the theme of the lesson.

Teacher introduces new vocabulary, learners repeat first in chorus and then individually. The list of words includes the following: violin, tambourine, clarinet, piano, guitar, saxophone, flute

• teacher present the slide “Running group work” dictation

Teacher divide learners into 3 groups by choosing coloured sweets. And each group count till 5.

Numbers 1 and 2 will be “Runners”

Numbers 3 and 4 will be “Writers ”

Numbers 5 will be “Speaker”

The task is: on the blackboard there will be three posters with the English equivalents of musical instruments and their pictures and teacher will give to writers sheets of paper with Kazakh equivalents.

Runners should go to the blackboard, find the words and go back to their places and say the words to the writers. And at the end of this activity each group will check their answer and speaker will say how many mistakes they have got.

• Teacher gives cards .What’s the word? And learners write the words under the picture. (self assessment)

• teacher gives the text. Learners divide types of musical instruments in three columns.

• Teacher gives sentences for reading. Learners choose the correct answer and circle the correct answer
