By the end of the lesson students will be able to use Special questions in their active speech, practice more types of using special questions, make up dialogues by themselves.

Warm-up and Objective Discussion

Objective discussion: What kind of answer do you get when you ask general questions? For example: Are you a student? -Yes or no. You are absolutely right. -What kind of question do you need in order to get more detailed answer? -Special questions. -Yes, that`s true. For example, What grade are you in? – I am in the 9<sup>th</sup> grade. Can you answer yes or no to this question? Of course you cannot. That`s why it is called special which demands special answer. So, Special questions are also one of the important component in communication. That`s why today we are going to practice using special questions in various situations.

Warm up: this is recall of prior knowledge activity as students are known some special questions. Students play the game . Students go around the class holding handouts given by teacher by asking questions to the statements written there. For example, there is a statement: Find someone who is younger than you. In order to find they have to ask, How old are you? Etc. then write the name down. Those students who write more names will win.

Teacher instructs more types of wh questions through graphic organizers and Google images which are reflected on a projector screen. Teacher uses own laptop. Then teacher modals each task that students should do in guided and independent practices by checking instruction asking CCQs. Tasks are also shown by projector screen.

Students work in pairs. Students are asked for completing empty rings with their own questions and ask those questions to the pair. Ask and answer to each other.

Students make up dialogue using following special questions: Who, what, which, how many(much), how long, how often, when in pairs. Then they role play their dialogue in open class.

Home task: Make up short dialogue using wh questions individually and put on Google docs. Their teacher check and write feedback.
