ENERGY SAVING
What can we do?
Hello! Together with you, I want to make a fascinating journey into the world of energy and learn how to save it.
What is energy?
The word “energy” comes from the Greek energeia ( en- 'in' + ergon 'work').
Energy is a physical quantity that characterizes the body's ability to do work.
Such a lot of energy you’ll use until you pull it out!
The development of civilization and the use of energy
The possibilities for conversion and use of energy are an indicator of scientific and technological development.
Forward! Follow the progress!
Law of energy conservation
Not the best way to convert the energy!
The concept of energy connects all natural phenomena.
Energy can not be created from nothing , nor destroyed, it transforms from one form to another.

Any event in the world is connected with the conversion of energy!
Energy is the basis of life on earth
Without energy there is no life ... And with such a life no energy is not enough!
21st Century Challenges
Since the beginning of the last century we have seen an unprecedented increase in world population and the production of energy.
The irreversible contamination of the environment and the impact of "greenhouse effect", causing unacceptable deviation of the Earth's sphere from thermodynamic equilibrium, resulting in floods in some parts of the Earth, and storms and drought in others.
I don’t like such weather

Find three differences.

Choice Options
Humanity faces a choice:
• either follow the way of limiting carbon emissions, which would require certain costs, but will deliver us from ecological disaster
• or leave it as it is and expose to an enormous risk the climate of our planet.
I’m going to the right. Who's with me?
Confronting challenges
1. Rebalancing environment.
2. Search for new opportunities and increased use of sources
alternative energy.
3. Energy saving in all areas of life.
The plan of rebalancing by means of alternative energy!
The use of alternative energy
Zero balance means that the building will produce as much energy from renewable sources, as it consumes.
All buildings in the EU must have a zero energy balance since 2019.
I also have a “zero balance”
Kyoto Protocol
Russian Federation
The Kyoto Protocol obliges a number of countries to reduce or stabilize greenhouse gas emissions in 2008-2012 compared with 1990.
On March 26, 2009 The Kyoto Protocol was ratified by 181 countries, including Russia.

Only environmental suit can protect against CO 2
Russia and the Kyoto Protocol
The difference may be sold
Russia joined the Kyoto Protocol in November 2004. Russia produces far less emission than the quota prescribes for the country.
Energy saving is an efficient solution
Windows.
Hot water supply.
Compact fluorescent lamps.
• Energy-saving, gas-filled double glazing, reduces the heat flow by more than 50%.
- Solar water heater with backup electric heater.
- Storage tank with insulation.
- Consume 4-5 times less energy than incandescent bulbs.
- Occupancy sensors automatically shut off lights when the room is empty.
• Silicone foam seal.
Fridge.
- Modern refrigerators consume four times less energy than models of 1974.
- Old refrigerators should be disposed of, but not set to a different location to store extra food. That will allow to fully use the advantages of new energy-saving models.
Have you got anything for me?
Walls.
Stove.
• A thick layer of cellulosic insulation reduces heat loss in winter and summer heat.
• The kitchen equipment is still much to be improved: while using conventional stove food will be transferred only 25% of the heat.
• Conventional ovens can save 20% of electricity.
Dishwasher.
- The auxiliary heater heats the water to the desired temperature, which allows to reduce the temperature of water in the hot water system.
- It consumes approximately 2-3 times less water than required for manual dishwashing.
Law № 261-FZ We are for economy and saving!
Energy saving in Russia
Federal Law № 261-FZ of November 23, 2009. "On
energy saving and energy efficiency improvements
and on Amendments to Certain Legislative
Acts of the Russian Federation. "
The Energy Strategy of Russia
until 2030.
As a result of the implementation
of the Energy Strategy till 2020
energy intensity of GDP in 2008
was 66.1% compared to 2000.
Reasonable decision!
Summary
Energy saving is not only about the economy of money, but also about the care of our planet!
Each of us is a part of the world, so any of our actions or our inaction may influence the course of events!
Energy saving is very important!
Even one cat power can be useful!
