Three men in a boat

We made a list of things to be taken and the next day, which was Friday, we got them all together, and met in the evening to pack. We got a large bug for the clothes and big baskets for the food and the cooking utensils . We moved the the table up the window, put everything in the middle of the floor, and sat round and looked at it. I said I would pack. Packing is one of those many things dut! fool I know more about then any other person living, I told Gorge and Harris that they had better leave the whole matter to me. Gorge t his pipe and spread himself over the easy chair, and Harris put his legs on the table and lit a This was hardly what I meant. Whit I had meant, of course, was that I should be in charg of the job and that Harris should follow my instructions. Their taking it in the way they did annoyed me. There is nothing that makes me angry more than seeing other people sitting about doing nothing when I'm working

However, I did not say anything, but started the packing It seemed a longer job than I had thought it was going to be, but I got the bag finished at best, and I sat on it and stripped t "Aren't you going to put the boots insid Harris I looked round and found that I had forgotten them That is just like Harris He could not have said a word until I'd got the bag shut and strapped, of course. George bughed. They made me so wild.

I opened the bug and packed the pots i and then just as I was going to shut it, an awful idea came to me. Had I packed my toothbrush? Of course, I had to tum everything out now and, of course, I could not find it. I bound George's and Ham's hoon times over, but I could not find mine I put the things back one by one. Then I found the toothbrush in a box! repacked again. When I had finished, I found that I had packed my tobacco and had to open it. It got shut at 10.5 p.m., and then there remained the baskets to pack. Harris said that he and George had better do the rest. I agreed and sat down.
