Lesson Objectives

Screen camera, laptop computer, loud speaker, Clear Speech pronunciation textbook pages 2-5.

By the end of the lesson students will be able to pronounce the verbs with past tense endings with 98 % accuracy as well as differentiate rhythm and syllables of the words.

Discuss with students about importance of correct pronunciation of word endings and their expectations from today`s lesson.

Teacher presents verbs with –ed endings in order to show students whether the number of syllables in the verb changes or not.

Teacher will show the following example on screen camera.

Exercise2. Teacher instructs to listen carefully next task from speaker and models how to do it by showing herself. Students look at the following part of the book page on a screen camera and listen simultaneously.

Then students will work in small groups and implement exercise 3.

Students are asked to fulfil next activity: Teacher shows the book page from screen camera and gives instruction how to do. This activity is individual work.

Next activity is given for the pair work. Again students see the task from screen camera and implement it in pairs.

Home task: Students will record their pronunciation of past 15 past tense verbs with –ed endings and submit to the Google docs. Teacher and classmates will listen and give feedback in class. The suggested site for recording is https//www.vocaroo.com.
