A flood. What is it?

Flooding - flooding as a result of rising water levels in rivers, lakes, seas because of the rains, rapid snowmelt, wind surge of water on the coast and other reasons that cause damage to people's health and even result in their death, and causes material damage.

Why is this happening?

• The flood of the river comes from the rapidly growing number of water due to melting snow or glaciers, located in its basin, and also as a result of heavy rainfall.

In St. Petersburg floods occur frequently. After only 3 months after the founding of St. Petersburg in the night from 19 to 20 August 1703, there was a flood. Then the water rose more than 2 meters.
