| Presentation Teacher distributes with the KWL charts, and asks them to fill in first two columns. Teacher asks leaners what they know about space and what they want to know. Tell them to keep their charts, so they can write what they`ve learnt at the end of the lesson. Learners get acquainted with the Universe / Space vocabulary. Teacher shows the image and asks if leaners know what it is. Then they check the pronunciation by clicking on it. Leaners write down unknown words into their vocabularies. Teacher drills the pronunciation. Leaners are divided into groups of four. They sit together. Teacher gives each a number 1 and 4 and hands out a worksheet. Every learner needs to find the answer for his/her question or write down keywords connected to the question. Pre-watching: Leaners read 4 questions, so teacher confirms that they understand the question and know what to do. While-watching: Leaners watch the video and make notes in their part of the worksheet (Learner number1 writes in the square of the 1st question, 2 Leaner in the 2nd square and so on). Post-watching: Learners number 1, 2, 3, 4 from each group sit together and discuss the answer of their question. Differentiation: less able leaners can find the answer (in case they didn`t understand or hear from their peer.) After they complete their notes they go to their initial group. Production stage: in groups leaners share with their information. Leaners 1 tell about space and planets, leaners 2 tell about the Earth, leaners 3 tell about asteroids and comets and leaners 4 tell about a galaxy and the universe. Every leaner needs to complete his/her worksheet with keywords or information. Whole class feedback. In pairs leaners discuss the following questions: -Do you believe there is life on other planets? -What do you think it is like? - Do you think we will be able to travel to other planets in the near future? (Teacher monitors the discussion and writes down some of the sentences uttered by her leaners where the Future Simple is used. Then write those sentences on the board). Assessment criteria. Learner answers all the questions Learner uses future Simple correctly (80%) Learner uses it will/ there will (at least 1 time each) Feedback: Teacher encourages and increases fluency, checks the process error correction |
